MTV (Middle East)
MTV Middle East, formerly MTV Arabia, was MTV’s free-to-air music channel for the Middle East, North Africa and the Horn of Africa. Based in Dubai, it was a joint venture between MTV Networks International and Arabian Television Network, part of Arab Media Group. It launched in October 2007 and was renamed MTV Middle East on August 30, 2011. On January 5, 2015, it stopped airing on Nilesat and moved to the OSN pay-TV platform as MTV Live HD. The channel aimed to be a platform for Arab youth, showcasing local music and programs, with a focus on R&B and hip hop.
