MEDL Mobile
MEDL Mobile Inc. is a U.S. company that designs, builds and markets mobile apps for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android. Based in Irvine, California, it was founded in 2008 by Dave Swartz and Andrew Maltin as a mobile app startup and technology incubator in Fountain Valley.
In 2009, MEDL launched the App Incubator, a program where people submit app ideas and receive a share of profits if the idea becomes an app. The company grew quickly and expanded its team.
In September 2010, MEDL moved its headquarters to Fountain Valley, and in June 2011 it became a publicly traded company on the over-the-counter market under the ticker MEDL.
In November 2012, MEDL formed Hang With, Inc., a live social mobile video platform. In November 2013, an opinion piece on Seeking Alpha suggested MEDL made exaggerated press releases as part of a pump-and-dump scheme. In October 2014, Hang With won the Best Mobile Platform Innovation award at the Digiday Sammy/Mobi Awards. On March 4, 2015, Hang With, Inc. announced that Jared Leto joined its Board of Advisors.
