Māna
Māna is a Buddhist term for pride, arrogance, or conceit. It is an inflated mind that uses things like wealth or learning as the basis for feeling superior. This kind of pride leads to disrespect for others and brings suffering for oneself and others. In Mahayana Buddhism, there are seven kinds of arrogance. To overcome māna, Buddhism teaches humility, right understanding, and ethical living.
