Lust is the third and final studio album by Ambitious Lovers. It was released on January 18, 1991, by Elektra Records. The album was recorded in New York City at Skyline Studio, Creative Audio Recording Services, Power Station, and Platinum Island. It runs 47 minutes and 28 seconds, is of the new wave genre, and was produced by Peter Scherer. All tracks were written by Arto Lindsay and Peter Scherer.

The album includes a cover of Jorge Ben’s “Umbabarauma,” which became a minor dance hit. Critics noted the blend of unusual sounds with pop textures: Trouser Press highlighted Lindsay’s distinctive guitar and crooner delivery, The New York Times praised its subversion of mass-market tastes through noise and odd sounds under a glossy veneer, and Spin described it as sensuous, hypnotic funk with samba influences.
