Luk chup
Luk chup (Thai: ลูกชุบ) is a Thai dessert inspired by Portuguese marzipan. Since almonds are not common in Thailand, mung beans are used instead. It used to be made for royalty, but now you can find it in many dessert shops. The sweets are molded into fruit or vegetable shapes, like mangoes, chilies, or oranges, and colored to match the real foods. Main ingredients are mung beans, coconut milk, sugar, jelly powder, water, and food coloring. The mixture is formed into shapes, colored, and sometimes coated with agar to give a shiny finish.
