Lufa District

Lufa District is a district in the Eastern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea. The capital is Lufa. It covers about 1,358 square kilometers (524 square miles). As of the 2011 census, around 61,057 people lived there, giving a density of about 45 people per square kilometer (116 per square mile). The time zone is UTC+10 (AEST). The district lies at roughly 6.35°S, 145.34°E. European contact reached the area in the late 1930s.
