Lucija Ćirić Bagarić
Lucija Ćirić Bagarić is a Croatian professional tennis player born on January 9, 2004, in Dubrovnik. She grew up in the Lapad area and comes from a family with a sports background—her father was a footballer. She started playing tennis at six and moved to Zagreb at 13 to train more seriously. Although she received offers to study at Harvard and Princeton, she chose to pursue a professional tennis career.
On the ITF circuit, she has won nine singles titles and two doubles titles, earning around $286,000 in prize money. Her career-high WTA singles ranking is 157, achieved on August 5, 2024, and her best doubles ranking is 328, reached on January 5, 2026. As of January 5, 2026, her rankings are No. 414 in singles and No. 328 in doubles.
She has represented Croatia in the Billie Jean King Cup, making her debut in doubles in April 2023. In September 2023, she reached the quarterfinals in her WTA 125 debut at Ljubljana. She was named ITF World Tennis Tour Player of the Month in February 2024.
Ćirić Bagarić earned a spot in the main draw of a Grand Slam for the first time at the 2024 French Open after qualifying by defeating Arina Rodionova, Rebecca Marino, and Sara Saito without dropping a set. She lost in the first round to Peyton Stearns in three sets. Her other Grand Slam results include Australian Open qualifying (Q3) in 2025, Wimbledon qualifying (Q1) in 2024, and US Open qualifying (Q2) in 2024.
