Lorenzo Minh Casali
Lorenzo Minh Casali (born 12 September 2002 in Hanoi, Vietnam) is an Italian artistic gymnast. He was adopted by an Italian family and competes for Italy since 2019, with Fiamme Oro as his club and Alberto Busnari as his head coach.
Casali was part of Italy’s gold-medal team at the 2023 European Championships and became the 2024 Italian National Champion. He also represented Italy at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
As a junior, Casali helped Italy win bronze at the first Junior World Championships in 2019, finishing 8th in the all-around and 5th on floor. He also won bronze with Italy at the 2019 European Youth Olympic Festival.
In his senior career, Casali made his European Championships debut in 2021, finishing 14th in the all-around in qualifications. At the Koper World Challenge Cup, he reached the floor final (8th) and the parallel bars final (4th). In 2022, he helped Italy win silver at both the DTB Pokal Team Challenge and the European Championships, and finished 7th in the all-around at Europeans. He competed at the 2022 World Championships, where Italy finished 4th in the team and Casali was 13th in the all-around.
The 2023 European Championships saw Casali and Italy win their first team gold. At the 2023 World Championships, Italy finished 8th as a team, earning a full team spot for Paris 2024.
In 2024, Casali helped Italy place second at the DTB Pokal Team Challenge and win bronze at the European Championships. He won the Italian national all-around title that year and was selected for the 2024 Olympic Games.
In 2025, he helped Italy finish third at the DTB Pokal Team Challenge. He won silver on floor and bronze on rings in event finals at that meet, and placed fourth on parallel bars at the Osijek World Cup. At the 2025 European Championships, he contributed to a bronze team medal and won his first European individual medal with a bronze on floor in the inaugural mixed team event with Manila Esposito.
