Aaron Ehasz
Aaron Gabriel Ehasz (born June 16, 1973) is an American screenwriter and television producer best known for Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Dragon Prince. He was the head writer and co-executive producer on Avatar and later co-founded the studio Wonderstorm, where he serves as CEO. Wonderstorm released The Dragon Prince on Netflix in 2018 and is developing a Dragon King sequel. He has also worked as a creative director at Riot Games.
Ehasz began his writing career in 2000 with Ed and Mission Hill, then served as story editor on Futurama from 2001 to 2003. After Avatar, he contributed to Futurama’s 2009 revival and wrote for Sit Down, Shut Up. In 2017 he launched Wonderstorm with Justin Richmond; The Dragon Prince was released on Netflix in 2018 and was praised for its storytelling and strong characters.
Awards and recognition include an Emmy nomination in 2007 for Avatar, a 2008 Peabody Award for Avatar, and a 2020 Daytime Emmy for The Dragon Prince. In 2019–2020, some former employees alleged a hostile work environment toward women, with reports of problematic treatment at times.
Personal life: He has been married twice, to Melanie McGanney and Elizabeth Welch (both divorces), and has a relative named Alex Ehasz.
