The UK Singles Chart ranks the week’s best-selling songs in the United Kingdom. Since 2014 it has counted both physical sales and digital downloads, and since 2017-2018 it also includes streaming. In July 2018, video streams from platforms like YouTube Music and Spotify started to count toward the chart as well.

This brief guide covers songs that reached the Top 10 in 2018 (including some that peaked in 2017 or 2019 but were in the Top 10 in 2018). In 2018, 98 different singles reached the Top 10. Twenty-four artists had multiple Top 10 hits, and several artists earned their first UK Top 10 that year (Ava Max, Cardi B, Dave, Freya Ridings, and Travis Scott were among them). Drake had the most Top 10 entries in 2018 with six, and he also notched the most weeks at number one with three different songs.

Key milestones and notes from 2018:
- Seventeen different singles peaked at number one in 2018.
- Three Lions (Baddiel, Skinner and The Lightning Seeds) made chart history by reaching number one for the fourth time with the same lineup, helped by World Cup excitement, then fell sharply after England’s exit.
- The Christmas 2017 song Perfect by Ed Sheeran remained at number one for the first weeks of 2018.
- River by Eminem featuring Ed Sheeran became the first new number-one single after video and streaming counting were fully in effect.
- One Kiss by Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa was the year’s best-selling single, spending 12 weeks in the Top 10, eight of them at number one, and earning 2× Platinum status.
- Other top sellers in the year’s top five included God’s Plan by Drake, Shotgun by George Ezra, This Is Me by Keala Settle, and These Days by Rudimental featuring Jess Glynne, Macklemore & Dan Caplan.
- Songs from films appeared in the Top 10, such as This Is Me (The Greatest Showman), All the Stars (Black Panther), Shallow (A Star Is Born), and Sunflower (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse). Shallow reached number one.
- Some songs released in 2017 peaked in 2018, and a few 2018 songs peaked in 2019, reflecting how long songs can stay popular.
- The year also saw artists achieving their first UK Top 10 as solo performers after previously charting in groups, with several acts reaching multiple Top 10 hits.

This snapshot captures the main trends and notable moments in the UK Top 10 singles of 2018.
