Leo Ferdinand Dworschak
Leo Ferdinand Dworschak (April 6, 1900 – November 5, 1976) was an American Roman Catholic bishop who led the Diocese of Fargo, North Dakota from 1960 to 1970. Born in Independence, Wisconsin, he was the son of a Czech immigrant. He was ordained a priest on May 29, 1926, for the Fargo Diocese. In 1946 he was named titular bishop of Tium and coadjutor of the Diocese of Rapid City, and in 1947 he became auxiliary bishop of Fargo, serving as apostolic administrator during part of that time. In 1960 he was appointed the fourth bishop of Fargo, a position he held until his retirement in 1970, when he became titular bishop of Meta. He died in Fargo in 1976 at age 76. His motto was Vivamus per Christum (We live through Christ).
