Leland Orser
Leland Jones Orser (born August 6, 1960) is an American actor, director, and writer from San Francisco, California. He studied at Connecticut College and Drama Studio London. He started as a stage actor and was nominated for a Helen Hayes Award for The Secret Rapture in 1991. He began television in 1991 with Gabriel's Fire and later appeared on The Golden Girls, Cheers, L.A. Law, The X-Files, NYPD Blue, Law & Order: SVU, and CSI.
His film work includes Seven (1995) as a man forced to help kill a prostitute, Alien Resurrection (1997) as Larry Purvis, The Bone Collector (1999) as Richard Thompson, Pearl Harbor (2001) as an injured officer, Daredevil (2003) as Wesley Owen Welch, and the Taken series (2008–2014) as Sam Gilroy. He also acted in several Star Trek episodes (DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise).
On TV, he played Chief of Surgery Dr. Lucien Dubenko on ER from 2004 to 2009 and Father Romero on Ray Donovan from 2015 to 2016. In 2010 he directed the film Morning. He is married to actress Jeanne Tripplehorn since 2000, and they have one son; he was previously married to Roma Downey from 1987 to 1989.
