Lamar Township, Barton County, Missouri
Lamar Township is a rural area in Barton County, Missouri. It surrounds the city of Lamar but does not include it. The township covers about 64.8 square miles (167.7 km2), mostly land with a small amount of water, and sits at about 994 feet (303 m) in elevation. As of the 2000 census, 1,569 people lived there, about 24 people per square mile.
The only incorporated settlement is Lamar Heights. There are four cemeteries: Fair View, Lake, Nigh, and Saint Marys. Dicks Fork, Elm Branch, and Pettis Creek flow through the township. Lamar Municipal Airport is located within its borders. Coordinates are roughly 37°29′44″N, 94°15′01″W.
