Lake Alleghe
Lake Alleghe (Lago d'Alleghe) is a natural lake in the Belluno province of northeastern Italy. It lies between the towns of Rocca Pietore (west) and Alleghe (east). The lake covers about 0.4 square kilometers and has a shoreline of around 4.5 kilometers. It formed in 1771 when a debris flow from Monte Piz blocked the Cordevole river, creating the lake and causing 49 deaths. Today it is a popular spot for visitors.
