NGC 296 is a faint, unbarred spiral galaxy in the Pisces constellation with low surface brightness. It is sometimes mistaken for NGC 295. It has other catalog names, including LEDA 3274, PGC 3274, UGC 565, and MCG+05-03-027. A supernova, SN 2023lzn (Type II, magnitude 18.5), has been observed in NGC 296. Coordinates (J2000): RA 00h 55m 21.533s, Dec +31° 40′ 38.21″.
