LCD Soundsystem is an American band that blends dance music with punk and disco. They have released five studio albums, along with several live and remix records, many singles, and many music videos.

The band first gained attention with the single Losing My Edge in 2002 on DFA Records. Their self-titled debut album followed to strong critical praise and achieved gold status in the UK.

In 2006 they put out 45:33, a 46-minute piece commissioned by Nike as a long-form musical project. Their second album, Sound of Silver (2007), was highly praised and reached No. 46 on the U.S. charts. It featured the track All My Friends, which became a marquee song on critics’ lists.

This Is Happening, released in 2010, marked the band’s first top-ten debut on the Billboard 200. The group announced a break in 2011 after a final show at Madison Square Garden.

They reunited in 2015, went on a world tour, and released American Dream in 2017, which became the band’s first No. 1 album in the United States. Sound of Silver earned a Grammy nomination in 2007 and remains a standout in their discography.
