Mike Polak
Michael Charles Polak, born March 31, 1960, is an American politician and a professor at Georgia Tech. A Democrat, he served in Georgia politics for a decade. Polak was the first to represent the newly created 67th district in the Georgia House of Representatives, serving from 1993 to 1999. He then served in the Georgia State Senate for the 42nd district from 1999 to 2003. Stephanie Stuckey succeeded him in the House, and David I. Adelman followed him in the Senate.
He lives in Decatur, Georgia, with his wife, Holly Lanford. He earned a BS from Georgia Tech and an MS from Georgia State University. Today, he is a professor of the practice at Georgia Tech's School of Public Policy.
