Kooteripattu is a developing village in Viluppuram district, Tamil Nadu, India. It lies along the Chennai–Trichy national highway, with roads leading to Pondicherry and Gingee. A famous site is the Mailam Murugan Temple, located on a small hill nearby. The Mailam railway station is located in Kooteripattu, just west of the main road junction. Two lakes meet in the village, which is where the name of the place comes from. The Thiruvakarai goddess Vakrakalli temple is near Kooteripattu and about 20 km from Pondicherry. Nearby railway stations include Mailam and Perani. The major political parties in the area are DMK, AIADMK and PMK.
