The Hotel (British TV series)
The Hotel is a British documentary series that aired on Channel 4 from 2011 to 2015. It uses fixed cameras placed around hotels to show everyday life, rather than filming with a traditional camera crew. The show ran for four series with 33 episodes in total. It is narrated by Hugh Bonneville.
Series details:
- Series 1: Eight episodes filmed in 2010 at the Damson Dene Hotel in the Lake District. First broadcast in 2011.
- Series 2: Set at The Grosvenor Hotel in Torquay, run by Mark Jenkins. Aired January–February 2012 and included a Christmas episode titled The Hotel at Christmas.
- Series 3: Also filmed at The Grosvenor, aired starting December 2012. By the end of this series, Jenkins sold The Grosvenor to the Richardson Hotel Group.
- Series 4: Commissioned in 2014 and filmed at The Cavendish Hotel in Torquay. Mark Jenkins worked there as entertainment manager for the summer of 2014. This series aired from 28 December 2014 to 15 February 2015.
