Knowlson Gift
Knowlson Gift is a career diplomat and politician from Trinidad and Tobago. He is a member of the Peoples' National Movement. Gift studied at the University College of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica, where he earned honors. He also completed a Diplomacy Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University’s SAIS, funded by the Rockefeller Foundation, and earned a Master of Arts in Political Science from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
Gift served as Trinidad and Tobago's Minister of Foreign Affairs in 1995, in 2001, and from 2002 to 2006. Before becoming minister, he was ambassador to Guyana, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and Venezuela. He also completed two four-year terms as Executive Director at the Inter-American Development Bank. Gift has received awards and formal recognition from several Latin American governments.
