Kenichi Ogata (voice actor)
Kenichi Ogata (緒方 賢一), born March 29, 1942, in Tagawa District, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, is a veteran Japanese actor and voice actor. He has been active since 1970 and is affiliated with the agency Umikaze (formerly Aoni Production).
Ogata is known for many famous roles, including Genma Saotome in Ranma ½, Kita Kita Oyaji in Mahōjin Guru Guru, Professor Hiroshi Agasa in Detective Conan, Father in Atashin'chi, Myōga in Inuyasha, King Dedede in Kirby: Right Back at Ya!, Ebisumaru in Ganbare Goemon, and Boxy and Boat Captain in You're Under Arrest. He has also voiced numerous characters in the Super Robot Wars video game series.
His career began after junior high when he studied cooking, later aiming to be a comedian in high school and performing with theater groups. Ogata’s voice acting debut was in Mazinger Z. He is known for his distinctive soft voice, as well as his ability to play sharp or villainous roles, and he is especially associated with Tensai Bakabon.
