Kefalos
Kefalos is the westernmost town on the Greek island of Kos, about 43 km from Kos Town. It sits on a peninsula on the island’s southwest coast, on a hill overlooking the Bay of Kamari. The windmill of Papavasilis is a well-known landmark in the area.
The Kefalos community includes the town and nearby beach spots such as Kamari, Kampos and Onia. It has about 2,700 residents in 2021, with the town itself home to around 2,300 people.
In Kefalos you’ll find taverns, bars, music and boat trips. Shops are limited, so for larger purchases you can go to Kardamaina or Kos Town. Kefalos is part of the Irakleides municipal unit in the Kos municipality, in the South Aegean region.
