Katzenbuckel

Content sourced from Wikipedia, licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0.

Katzenbuckel is an extinct volcano and the highest point in the Odenwald, a region in southwest Germany. It rises to 626 meters and sits in Baden-Württemberg, just east of Eberbach near Waldbrunn. At the top is an 18-meter sandstone lookout. On clear days you can see the Donnersberg about 83 kilometers away and the surrounding Taunus mountains; in exceptionally clear weather you might even see the Kreuzberg in the Rhön about 120 kilometers away. The name Katzenbuckel translates to “cat’s arched back.”
