Katie Landers
Katie Landers is a character from the Australian soap Neighbours, played by Sally Jensen. She appeared on screen from February 1988 to September 1989. Katie is the daughter of Annette and Bob Landers, the sister of Todd Landers, and the niece of Beverly Marshall. She and her brother Todd come to Ramsay Street to live with their aunt Beverly after their parents’ marriage hits trouble.
Katie soon befriends Toby Mangel and grows close to Helen Daniels. When her father Bob tries to blackmail Helen, Katie and Todd uncover the plan. Bob is arrested, which causes tension between Katie and Todd, though they eventually reconcile.
Katie has a pet rabbit named Rupert. Rupert goes missing, and there’s a later mix-up where the rabbit’s presumed fate becomes a cooking stew, but Rupert is found alive in Henry Ramsay’s garden. At the year’s end, Annette decides to take Katie and Todd back to Adelaide. Todd stays in Erinsborough, but Katie leaves. Before she goes, she gives Rupert to Toby and shares an emotional goodbye, even sharing a kiss with Toby.
The BBC noted Katie’s most memorable moment as forcing Joe Mangel to bury a casserole.
