Karvounari (Greek: Καρβουνάρι) is a village and community in the Paramythia area of Thesprotia, Epirus, Greece. It has 437 residents (2021) and sits about 140 meters above sea level. The village is located 5 km northeast of Margariti, 8 km southwest of Paramythia, and 22 km southeast of Igoumenitsa.

Historically, Karvounari was part of the Muslim Cham communities. In 1913 it had 1,146 inhabitants, but by 1920 only 496 remained as many people migrated to Albania or Turkey after the region joined Greece. In 1928, Cham representatives from Paramythia, Karvounari, and Filiates asked to open two Muslim schools funded by themselves. The Greek authorities rejected the plan, arguing the schools would promote Albanian propaganda, but officials allowed their operation unofficially so they could be closed if needed and to justify the existence of Albanian schools in Chameria.

During the 1940s, the Greco-Italian War and German occupation led to a mass departure of Cham people from Greece. Today there are no Cham Muslims living in Karvounari, though the village population remains 437.
