Kami language

Kami is a small Nupoid language spoken in Niger State, Nigeria. It is spoken only in Ebo town, south of Lapai. There are only a few hundred speakers left. Kami is closely related to Gupa and Dibo. A fishing community known as Kede (also Kyadya, Kiadia, Kyedye) speaks the same language. Kami belongs to the Volta–Niger branch of the Niger-Congo language family, within the Nupe–Gbagyi group, specifically the Nupe languages, Core Nupe, Gupa cluster. Its ISO 639-3 code is kmi and its Glottolog code is kami1258.
