Kai Horwitz (born April 9, 1998) is a Chilean Olympic alpine skier from Santiago. He is Jewish. His sister Nadja Horwitz sailed for Chile in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics in the women’s 470 class. His cousins Henrik von Appen and Sven von Appen also ski for Chile; Henrik has competed in the 2014 and 2018 Winter Olympics in all five alpine events and was Chile’s flagbearer at the 2018 opening ceremony.

Kai studied at Burke Mountain Academy in East Burke, Vermont (2012–2016) and is studying biokinetics at the University of the Andes in Santiago. He skis for Club Andes in La Parva, and his coach is Luciano Acerboni. His events include alpine combined, downhill, giant slalom, slalom, and super-G.

Career highlights include winning the 2011 Whistler Cup giant slalom. At the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics in Lillehammer, he finished 20th in Alpine Combined. In March 2016 he won the FIS Giant Slalom at Stowe Mountain Resort, and in August 2016 he placed third in the South American Cup Slalom at Antillanca. In January 2017 he finished third in the Italian National Junior Race in Giant Slalom at Pozza di Fassa, and in September 2017 he was third in the South American Cup – Chapelco in Men’s Giant Slalom. He competed in the 2018 Winter Olympics at age 19, but did not finish in the Men’s Giant Slalom and Men’s Slalom.
