Kai Fotheringham
Kai Colin Fotheringham (born 18 April 2003) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a forward for St Johnstone, wearing number 21. He was born in Larbert, Scotland, and is 1.69 metres tall.
He began his career in the Dundee United youth system, also spending time with Falkirk’s academy and the Forth Valley Academy. In August 2020 he signed a contract with Dundee United, keeping him at the club until 2023. He made his first-team debut for Dundee United in a 6-2 League Cup win over Brechin City on 7 October 2020, and his Scottish Premiership debut came on 27 January 2021 in a 5-1 defeat to St Mirren.
Fotheringham spent several loan spells to gain experience:
- Falkirk (March 2021): 11 league appearances, 1 goal; he also scored a late winner against Arbroath in the Scottish Cup after coming on as a substitute.
- Raith Rovers (2021–22 season): 5 league appearances.
- Cove Rangers (February 2022): 5 league appearances.
- Stirling Albion (August 2022): 13 league appearances, 5 goals.
He joined St Johnstone on 25 August 2025 for an undisclosed fee.
Internationally, Fotheringham has represented Scotland at under-16 level (1 cap in 2019) and made his under-21 debut in November 2023 (1 cap).
