Kahkashan Perween
Kahkashan Perween (born 1 January 1979) is an Indian politician from the Janata Dal (United). She represented Bihar in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of Parliament, from April 2014 to April 2020. She served as the Mayor of Bhagalpur from 2002 to 2007. In July 2018, Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu nominated her to the panel of presiding officers to conduct House proceedings. Born in Doranda, Ranchi district, Jharkhand, she earned a BA from Ranchi Women's College. She has lived in Bhagalpur since her marriage to Md. Nasimuddin, and they have two daughters.
