KFTA-TV is the Fox affiliate for the Fort Smith–Fayetteville, Arkansas area. It is owned by Nexstar Media Group and works alongside its sister stations KNWA-TV (NBC) and KXNW (MyNetworkTV). The three stations share studios in the Underwood Building on Dickson Street in downtown Fayetteville. KFTA-TV’s transmitter sits on Cartwright Mountain near Artist Point, and some of its programming is also broadcast from KNWA-TV’s transmitter as part of a shared signal arrangement.

KFTA-TV broadcasts Fox on channel 24.1, with NBC and other digital subchannels on 24.2 and 34.1, and it also carries a simulcast of KXNW on its multiplex. KNWA-TV (channel 51) and KXNW (channel 34) are part of the same ownership group and share content and facilities.

History in brief:
- The station began as KLMN on November 12, 1978, in Fort Smith, originally a CBS affiliate. It later became an NBC affiliate in 1980 and changed its call sign to KPOM-TV in 1982.
- Griffin Television owned KPOM-KFAA (the Rogers satellite, channel 51) from 1986 to 2003 to improve coverage in Northwest Arkansas. Griffin built KFAA to serve the region as a semi-satellite, and News operations expanded and later contracted several times.
- Nexstar took over management of KPOM–KFAA in 2004, then fully acquired them. The stations were renamed KFTA-TV and KNWA-TV in August 2004, with operations shifted toward Fayetteville to better serve Northwest Arkansas.
- In 2006, Nexstar announced a sale to Mission Broadcasting but continued to operate KFTA and KNWA. KFTA began airing Fox programming full-time on August 28, 2006, while KNWA continued to provide some programming. Fort Smith viewers received more Fox content and a Fort Smith–focused 9 p.m. newscast.
- Mission never completed the purchase. Nexstar later acquired KXNW (channel 34) in 2019, expanding its Northwest Arkansas presence. The Fort Smith operation was closed in 2011, with all activities moved to Fayetteville. In 2012, KNWA–KFTA moved to a new, shared facility on West Dickson Street.
- KNWA produces the morning news at 7:00 a.m. and local newscasts at 5:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. for KFTA.
