Justin Goldberg
Justin Goldberg (born April 12, 1966) is an American music and film industry executive, artist manager, author, and producer. He has held senior roles at Sony Music, Red Light Management, and Razor & Tie, and has worked as a producer, writer, and music supervisor for film and television, including Disney’s Tangled, Veritas: The Quest, Before the Music Dies, and In Memory of My Father. He helped discover artists like Martin Sexton and Grace Potter and has shared his industry knowledge as a speaker and educator.
An early advocate for online music, Goldberg founded the Online Music Channel in 1998 and later held positions at iMesh, Tonos, and Riffage. In 2003 he started indie911, a network for discovering and selling music online, which evolved into Hoooka, the first online music widget in 2006. indie911 partnered with major brands and helped launch the Small Screen Film Festival for cell-phone content. He also started Laundry Room Records in 2006, releasing albums by several artists through independent distribution networks.
Goldberg is the author of The Ultimate Survival Guide to the New Music Industry: Handbook for Hell (2004). He founded Measurement Arts to manage a wide range of music projects and artists and speaks at major industry conferences such as SXSW and the Milken Institute. He has taught entertainment marketing at Baruch College (CUNY) and has lectured at USC and other institutions. He is also a visual artist under the name A&Rt and has acted in a few early films.
