Alessandro Abbio
Alessandro Abbio (born 13 March 1971 in Racconigi, Italy) is a retired Italian basketball player. He played as a shooting guard and was 1.93 m tall. His pro career lasted from 1988 to 2008, with teams including Auxilium Torino, Virtus Bologna, Pamesa Valencia, CB Granada, Basket Livorno and Pallacanestro Firenze.
He won the EuroLeague twice with Virtus Bologna (1998 and 2001) and was named a FIBA EuroStar in 1999. He also won three Italian League titles (1995, 1998, 2001) and four Italian Cups (1997, 1999, 2001, 2002). Abbio was an Italian League All-Star five times (1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001).
Internationally, Abbio represented Italy at the FIBA EuroBasket in 1997 and 1999, the 1994 Goodwill Games, the 1998 FIBA World Championship, and the 2000 Summer Olympics. He also played in the European U-18 Championship in 1990.
