Julio Lagos Cosgrove
Julio Eloy Lagos Cosgrove (born 20 July 1943 in Iquique, Chile) is a Chilean politician and former transport union leader who served as a senator for the 1st Senatorial Constituency of Tarapacá from 1990 to 2002.

- Spouse: Pilar Lira Moller; they have six children
- Education: Primary at Public School No. 16 (Iquique); secondary at Liceo de Hombres (Iquique)
Athletics and early career
- At 18, he won a discus event at the South American Games
- Competed in the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games
- Entered and led the transport sector, becoming a prominent union leader in Iquique and Tarapacá
Transport leadership
- President of the Association of Truck Owners of Iquique (1970)
- President of the Provincial Federation of Truck Owners of Tarapacá (1973)
- Secretary General of the Confederation of Truck Owners of Chile (1976–1982), later its president
- Vice president (1985–1989) representing Chile in the Latin American Transport Association (ATALAC)
- Appointed to the Economic and Social Council on 24 October 1985
Political career
- Elected Senator in 1990 as an independent for the 1st Tarapacá constituency; joined National Renewal (RN) two days after taking office and became vice president of its Political Commission
- Re-elected in 1993 for the 1994–1998 term
- In 2001, ran for a new term (2002–2010) but was defeated by Jaime Orpis
- Later ran for the Chamber of Deputies in 2005 (as an Independent Democratic Union candidate) and for the Senate again in 2009 (as RN), but was not elected
