John Taylor Bird (August 16, 1829 – May 6, 1911) was an American lawyer and Democratic politician from New Jersey. He was born in Bloomsbury, New Jersey, and studied there and at a local academy. He became a lawyer in 1855 and practiced in Bloomsburg, later moving to Clinton in 1858 and Flemington in 1865.

Bird served as prosecutor for Hunterdon County from 1862 to 1867. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives and represented New Jersey’s 3rd district from March 4, 1869, to March 3, 1873 (the Forty-first and Forty-second Congresses). He did not seek renomination in 1872. After leaving Congress, he returned to law practice in Flemington.

He was a member of New Jersey’s constitutional convention in 1876 and moved to Trenton in 1882. Bird served as vice chancellor of New Jersey from 1882 to 1896 and as a master in chancery from 1900 to 1909. He died in Trenton in 1911 and was buried in Riverview Cemetery.
