Josef Průša (born February 23, 1990) is a Czech entrepreneur and the founder of Prusa Research, a company that makes popular 3D printers. He was born in Havlíčkův Brod and studied applied computer science at the Prague University of Economics and Business, though he did not finish his degree. At 19 he began designing 3D printers, and in 2012 he started Prusa Research. His work grew from the RepRap project, an open-source 3D printer initiative. He has lectured about 3D printing and open-source hardware, and has taught Arduino at Charles University and at Prague’s Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design. He has received several awards, including the Wooden Medal (2012), EY Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year (2016), and Mensa Czech Republic’s Honorary Recognition (2021). Forbes listed him as the 75th richest Czech in 2021 with about 4.3 billion CZK. In October 2025 he received the Medal of Merit from President Petr Pavel for his economic achievements.
