James McTeigue
James McTeigue, born 29 December 1967 in Sydney, Australia, is a film and television director. He started in the industry in the late 1980s as a production runner and assistant director on Australian films, eventually working as second and then first assistant director on many projects, including The Matrix (1999), Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002), and the Matrix sequels.
McTeigue made his directing debut with V for Vendetta (2005), written and produced by the Wachowskis, and it earned critical praise. He later collaborated with the Wachowskis on The Invasion (uncredited), Ninja Assassin (2009), and the Netflix series Sense8, where he directed two episodes. He also directed The Raven (2012). In 2021, he produced The Matrix Resurrections with Lana Wachowski, continuing his long-running partnership with the Wachowskis on film and television projects.
