Connor Mackey
Connor Mackey (born September 12, 1996) is an American professional ice hockey defenseman for the New York Rangers of the NHL. He shoots left, is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds. He was born in Tower Lakes, Illinois, and is the son of former NHL player David Mackey.
Mackey played in the USHL for the Green Bay Gamblers, where he was named Defenseman of the Year in 2016-17. He then played college hockey for Minnesota State University, earning multiple honors as a Maverick. Undrafted, he signed with the Calgary Flames on March 20, 2020, and made his NHL debut on February 13, 2021.
In the 2022-23 season, Mackey served as a depth defenseman for Calgary, appearing in 10 games before being traded to the Arizona Coyotes on March 3, 2023. He signed with the New York Rangers as a free agent on July 1, 2023, to a one-year, two-way contract, and earned a two-year extension with the Rangers on March 1, 2024. He has represented the United States at the 2021 IIHF World Championship in Latvia.
