Jacques Zimako
Jacques Zimako (28 December 1951 – 8 December 2021) was a New Caledonian football forward. He was born in Lifou, New Caledonia.
Club career
- Bastia: 1972–1977, 134 appearances, 42 goals
- Saint-Étienne: 1977–1981, 120 appearances, 30 goals
- Sochaux: 1981–1983, 62 appearances, 8 goals
- Bastia: 1983–1985, 68 appearances, 10 goals
He played a total of 384 club games and scored 90 goals.
International career
- France: 13 caps, 2 goals (1977–1981)
- He was the first Kanak-origin player to play for France and was the cousin of Marc-Kanyan Case.
Managerial career
- New Caledonia national team in 1995
Death
- Zimako died on 8 December 2021 at the age of 69.
