Jack David Shantry (born 29 January 1988) is a former English cricketer who played for Worcestershire and is now a cricket umpire. Born in Shrewsbury, England, he is tall (6 ft 4 in), bats left‑handed and bowls left‑arm medium pace. He progressed from Shropshire Under‑17s to Shropshire minor counties and Worcestershire’s Second XI before making his Worcestershire senior debut in August 2009. He stayed with Worcestershire for nearly a decade, playing in more than 90 first‑class matches and taking 266 wickets, while also contributing with the bat on occasions. A highlight came in 2014 when he scored his first‑class century against Surrey and helped Worcestershire win promotion to Division One. He retired from all cricket in June 2018 due to ongoing back injuries. In 2022 he began a new career as an umpire and now stands in first‑class, List A and Twenty20 matches, including international duty in 2025. He is the brother of Adam Shantry and the son of Brian Shantry.
