It's the Pied Piper, Charlie Brown is a 25-minute American animated TV special. It’s the 39th and last Peanuts special supervised by Charles M. Schulz. The story was released on September 12, 2000, after Schulz had died.

In the tale, Charlie Brown tells his sister Sally the story of the Pied Piper of Hamelin. Sally prefers a lighter story than War and Peace. In this version, the town has a mouse problem. The mice dance and cause trouble for the townspeople. The mayor hires the “Pied Piper Beagle,” who is Snoopy, offering him a year’s worth of dog food as payment. Snoopy plays his concertina and leads the mice out of town.

But the mayor won’t keep his promise, even though there’s a signed contract. Snoopy then uses his music to lure the mayor and his officials away as punishment. Charlie Brown finishes the tale. Outside, Snoopy keeps playing from his doghouse, and Linus, Lucy, Franklin, and Peppermint Patty join in dancing. Lucy tells Charlie Brown to stop Snoopy, while other characters appear briefly without talking lines.
