Irina Embrich, born July 12, 1980 in Tallinn, Estonia, is a left-handed épée fencer. She began with gymnastics, moved to rhythmic gymnastics, and then switched to fencing under coach Samuil Kaminski. As a young athlete, she placed on the cadet and junior world stages and earned a junior bronze in 1999.

In 2004, her fencing training continued with Nikolai Novosjolov, and she balanced her life with marriage to a fellow student and the birth of her daughter Maria in 2005. She studied chemistry at Tallinn University of Technology.

Her career highlights include a silver medal in the 2006 World Fencing Championships (individual épée) and bronze in 2007. In the 2012–13 season she won bronze at World Cup events in Leipzig and Saint-Maur, and helped Estonia win team gold at the European Championships in Zagreb. She was runner-up at the 2013–14 Budapest Grand Prix and reached a high world ranking around fourth.

At the European level, Embrich won the 2024 individual championship and is a two-time team European champion. She was part of the Estonian team that won the 2017 World Championship. In the Olympics, she competed in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 (held in 2021), where she won a team gold medal.
