Intelligence – Servizi & segreti
Intelligence – Servizi & segreti is an Italian action spy drama that aired in 2009. It follows Marco Tancredi, a former Italian special-forces operative who is traumatized by a failed mission in Yemen. After his wife, Lidia Lenti, a psychiatrist, is killed in a suspicious armed hold-up, Tancredi starts his own investigation and joins Italy’s anti-terrorist service led by Carlo Fulgeri. He teams up with Lidia’s friend Giada Lunardi and other agents to uncover a broad conspiracy.
Their search takes them from Bucharest to Tunisia and beyond. They uncover clues from a memory card left by Lidia and meet a variety of characters, including a dangerous Russian assassin and a corrupt member of the anti-terrorist squad. The case expands to dangerous biological and nuclear plots and to the fight against a Taliban arms network. A key antagonist is Giovanni Sgrò, who works for the powerful Licio Mariani and who tries to frame Tancredi and Giada.
Tancredi and Giada go into hiding, uncover the mastermind, and work to stop a monastery-based nuclear plan. In the end, they discover there is a mole inside their own department. A second season was planned but never made.
