Institute of International Relations Yekaterinburg
Institute of International Relations (IIR), also known as IMS, is a private academic institution in Yekaterinburg, Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia. It was founded in 1994 as the Ekaterinburg College of Foreign Languages by the Urals Architecture and Art Academy and private individuals. It began operating fully in 1997 and was renamed IIR. The school later opened a Kamensk-Uralsk branch and a college in Yekaterinburg to offer vocational programs in management, tourism, and hospitality; the Kamensk branch has offered linguistics and management education since 1998.
IIR/IMS runs three faculties: Linguistics, International Economy Relations, and Additional Education. It has about 1,047 undergraduate students. The campus sits in Yekaterinburg’s city center near the Church of All Saints, along the Iset River. The institute is well-regarded for linguistics and has received recognition as one of Russia’s top private universities, including a Golden Medal award.
The institution had state accreditation starting in 2006, but this accreditation was canceled in April 2016.
