Inda Zib'i is a freshwater artificial lake (reservoir) in the Inderta district of Ethiopia’s Tigray Region. An earthen dam built in 1999 by SAERT creates the reservoir, which covers about 0.04 square kilometers (4 hectares) and holds around 183,000 cubic meters of water. It sits about 2,400 meters above sea level, near the settlement of Araguren. The catchment area is 1.49 square kilometers, with a 4.77-kilometer boundary and about 1.32 kilometers of length. The lake fills with sediment quickly; in 2002 its sediment life was estimated at 25 years. The rocks in the catchment are Agula Shale. Some water leaks through the dam (seepage), but this helps recharge groundwater.
