Ilir Ferati (born 19 December 1988) is a Kosovo politician. He served in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo from 2019 to 2021 and has been the mayor of Istog since 2021. Ferati is a member of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and is the son of Fadil Ferati, who was Istog’s mayor from 2001 to 2010.

Early life
Ferati grew up in Istog in a Kosovo Albanian family. He studied public policy and management at the American University in Kosovo. After graduating, he worked for four years as a civil servant in Istog’s directorate of economic development, where he helped manage grants for mountain tourism.

Political career
Parliamentary career:
- In the 2019 parliamentary elections, Ferati was placed 22nd on the LDK list. The party won 28 seats, and he was elected.
- He served on the committee for infrastructure, agriculture and environment, and on the investigative committee for the COVID-19 pandemic.
- He helped remove a requirement that civil service applicants have two years of work experience, making it easier for recent graduates to enter public service.

2021 elections:
- Ferati finished 21st on the LDK list in the 2021 elections, but the party won only 15 seats, and he was not re-elected to Parliament.

Mayor of Istog
In the 2021 local elections, Ferati was elected mayor of Istog in the second round. He later formed a four-year coalition government in Istog with the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK).
