If I Wasn't Your Daughter is a ballad by German singer Lena Meyer-Landrut. It was released on 6 June 2017 and lasts about 3 minutes and 30 seconds. The song was written by Lena along with Vincent Stein, Nico Wellenbrink, Jamie Hartman and Konstantin Scherer.

The lyrics talk about Lena's relationship with her father, Ladislas von Karatsony, who left the family when she was two. The release happened at the same time as the stage premiere on the fourth season of Sing meinen Song – Das Tauschkonzert, the German version of The Best Singers series.

Shortly before the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, Lena's father gave an interview saying he would not contact her yet, but that a place is always free at his table.

After the Sing meinen Song performance, the song briefly reached the top of the German iTunes chart. It debuted at number 42 on the German Singles Chart in the week of 9 June 2017 and rose to number 35 the following week.

The music video was directed by Vi-Dan Tran and filmed at night around Berlin-Mitte, including Potsdamer Platz. It was produced by Max von Helldorff for BNTB-Agency, based on Lena's idea with her stylist Philipp Koch-Verheyen. Khoa Huynh was a camera assistant, and Max von Helldorff handled the second camera. The video premiered online on 6 June 2017.

Lena first performed the song live on Sing meinen Song on 6 June 2017, in an episode dedicated to her, and the performance was well received. She also performed the song on Markus Lanz on ZDF on 21 June 2017 to critical acclaim.
