Idalguer
Idalguer (Latin: Hidelherius, Idelherus) died in 914 and was the second bishop of Vic after the see was re-founded, serving from 899 to 914. He helped reorganize the diocese and consecrated churches at Lluçà, Manlleu, and Sant Julià de Vilatorta. At the 906 Barcelona council he said there had been no Christians left in Osona after Aizo’s rebellion (826–27) until repopulation began in 878 under Count Wilfred the Hairy. He credited divine mercy for the reconquest and repopulation, saying the Lord raised Wilfred to lead it. He was an early supporter of the Bellonid family. His report on the diocese’s poverty led to a reduction of the annual tribute to the Narbonne archdiocese. In 908 he drew up a will, and in 911 he acted as executor of Count Wilfred II’s will.
