Hydroscapha natans
Hydroscapha natans is a small skiff beetle in the Hydroscaphidae family. It lives in North America, especially in Mexico, California, Arizona, Nevada, and Idaho. It inhabits cool streams and hot springs and feeds on mats of filamentous green algae. Its scientific name is Hydroscapha natans LeConte, 1874.
