Hengyang–Liuzhou intercity railway
Hengyang–Liuzhou intercity railway is a high-speed rail line in southwest China that connects Hunan and Guangxi. It runs from Hengyang East in Hunan to Liuzhou in Guangxi, covering about 498 kilometers. The route passes through Yongzhou and Guilin before ending in Liuzhou, and it links with the Beijing–Guangzhou–Shenzhen–Hong Kong High-Speed Railway at Hengyang East as well as with the Liuzhou–Nanning intercity railway to reach Nanning. The line makes direct high-speed trains from Beijing to Guilin possible in around 10 hours. Construction began in 2009, was completed in May 2013, and passenger service opened on 28 December 2013. The railway supports speeds up to 250 km/h (155 mph), is electrified with 25 kV AC overhead power, uses standard gauge, and has 16 stations.
