Hartley Building
The Hartley Building is a historic office building in Duluth, Minnesota. Built in 1914, it was designed by Bertram Goodhue, a prominent architect from New York City, and built by John F. Fredin. The building is a notable example of Tudor Revival architecture. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 15, 1989, for its architectural significance. It is one of four Duluth buildings designed by Goodhue, the only nationally recognized architect to have multiple commissions in early Duluth. Other Goodhue works in Duluth include the Kitchi Gammi Club (1912), St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (1912), and the Cavour Hartley House (1915). The Hartley Building is located at 740 East Superior Street in Duluth.
